Vouchers through the state program

BEDP accepts state vouchers for childcare. Contact us for further information. You must be income eligible to receive a voucher. For information about the Massachusetts Child Care Financial Assistance Program, including how to apply, income eligibility and getting on the centralized state waiting list, click here.

Our voucher contract is with Community Care for Kids. Click here for more information about CCK and to contact someone there.

If you already have a voucher, be sure to notify the person who has issued your voucher that you will have a new childcare provider for your child. They will need to get the voucher assigned to BEDP before your child starts the program.

Financial aid through bedp

A limited amount of financial aid is available through BEDP each year. To download an application for 2025-26, click here.

Families that are income eligible must apply for a state voucher before applying to BEDP for a full or partial tuition waiver. BEDP may be able to provide transitional aid while a family waits to get approved for a voucher.

Applicants for financial aid must complete the BEDP application form and submit all required supporting documents to be considered for a tuition waiver of any amount. Financial aid is not automatically renewed each year. Families must reapply each year that they need financial aid.

Alternative Payment Schedules/Payment Plans

Tuition is due on the first day of each month, September through June. In certain circumstances, BEDP can arrange a different payment frequency schedule - twice a month or weekly or a different due date each month. This would usually be for a limited period of time if a family is having temporary financial difficulty.

Voucher Parent Fees

Many families with vouchers will have a parent fee. The fee is set by the voucher agency, not BEDP. The BEDP bookkeeper bills families with vouchers for their parent fees at the beginning of the month for the month that just ended. The amount billed is the daily rate for that child times the number of program days in the month. Parents must pay their monthly fees to stay eligible for their vouchers. Some families will not have a parent fee.
